SCROLL DOWN

Defining

I am on a mission to build better businesses. Whether it is our customers, the professionals I mentor, or the team I lead, I am at my best when I can see inspiration spark innovation.

It has been an honor to help business customers across a variety of industries achieve their objectives and serve their customers and communities. These include companies utilizing cloud computing and developing technical capabilities through accessible education; connecting brands to college sports fans for consumer awareness and preference; bringing flat-panel desktop monitors to market for business productivity and energy reduction; championing new technology innovation to enhance patient outcomes in healthcare or customer experiences in retail. Although these appear different on the surface, throughout my career, I have been curious and thrived at the intersection of where B2B marketing and strategy meet leadership and culture. It is where you make a mark in the market and impact people's lives in this infinite game.

Before my career even began, I was thinking about how businesses build communities and develop leaders. Raised by entrepreneurs, artists, and educators, my childhood games envisioned the economy of a fictional city of Butterfly Grove, where I imagined not only the local newspaper (The Butterflyer, naturally), banks, and schools, but the combo bookstore and coffee shop I dubbed "The Book and Bagel" (clearly an idea before its time). My Gallup CliftonStrengths of strategy, maximizer, positivity, activator, and winning others over (WOO) were evident then and now.

My business imagination is still stirred by conversations with talented colleagues, assessments of strategy, industry trends, and business books. I was able to complete a bucket-list item during the pandemic, writing and publishing my first book, Well Made Decisions, through New Degree Press, which I hope inspires others with new ideas and frameworks.

I have been described as an "idea factory," but my real superpower is being able to motivate teams and transform results, sometimes leading the marketing function and often in roles that include product, strategy, or operations. This strength has been reflected in the growing profitability of the P&Ls I have led, my collaboration with c-suite peers, the diverse teams I have built, the mergers and acquisitions I have researched and integrated, those I have mentored and been mentored by, and the thoughtful choices made and implemented, working with public and private boards of directors.

I look forward to being inspired by you!
